Classic Films..

I asked a similar question before, but has anyone found a copy of "it happened one night" in Canada. Im from Ontario and they carry no old movies at my video store, they stop with Citizen Kane and thats pretty much the only classic they have..I've been looking for Clark Gable movies and have found absolutely none, which is dissapointing because the only movie I've seen him in is obviously Gone With the Wind...so any other recommendations..?

With that being said, I was watching the making of Gone With the Wind last night..(that's my summer excitement), and just wow. The whole process of making Gone With the Wind seemed neverending, reshoots and directors being replaced, apparentely Victor Fleming was rude to Vivien they didn't get along, he was only nice to Clark Gable, while Vivien wanted to wrap up filming as soon as possible. Kind of took away the whole romance element for me watching how a film is made. They commented how Gable and Leigh had a "cool friendship" towards one another, which was also dissapointing. I guess i'm just a romantic at heart, wanting the two leads to fall for another, of course real life isn't like that and both of them were with someone else, oh well Gone With the Wind fans wouldn't have minded! Anyways..any other films with a romantic epic theme to them? I can't find any Clark Gable movies at all :S

I think Calrk and Vivien would have had gorgeous kids, lol. No but, I think they respected one another, and I think the film would have been a lot different if George Cuckor had stayed on to direct instead of Victor Fleming. but, well, the onscreen chemistry and the finished product are what really matters, right?

romances, ey? How about ones that aren't necessarily epic but still good? here are a few of mine:
-Braveheart
-Waterloo bridge (though that's not really "epic")
-It Happened One Night
-Casablanca
-An Affair to Remember
-Cinema Paradiso (If you can get your hands on that one, i'd really recommend it, the ending is only the best thing EVER, it's an Italian film, though)
-The Last of the Mohicans
-The Age of Innocence
-Meet Me in St Louis
-Wuthering Heights with laurence Olivier

Hope that helps, and i hope you can find some Clark movies, he made a ton. If you have TCM, that's a good place for them:)

It Happened One Night just played this year on Columbus' CAPA's summer movie thing. I have always been to go to it once. I would love to be able to a see an old movie in a theater.

I never watch behind the scenes footage!
Hehe. It always ruins the movie!

We have the movie network, but is it possible to get Turner Classic Movies in Canada?
